Cartagena Alone

There is a version of Cartagena that only solo travelers get to see. It reveals itself slowly, in side streets and chance conversations, in the quality of a meal eaten alone at a very good table, in the freedom to stay in a place for as long as it holds your interest and leave the moment it does not. That version requires no company — but it does require a certain infrastructure. Someone who knows where to go. Someone who can get you there without friction.

Our solo programs are designed for the kind of traveler who has already been to many places and knows exactly what they are looking for: depth over speed, quality over volume, and the comfort of knowing that every logistical detail has been arranged by someone who has already thought of everything. Your private guide is not a tour operator reading from a script. They are a specialist — a person who has spent years in Cartagena and can take you precisely where your curiosity leads, at exactly the pace you set.

Traveling alone with CGLUX is not a diminished group experience. It is its own category. The single traveler who knows what they want gets more of Cartagena than any group, because nothing is compromised to suit a consensus. Your itinerary is built around your interests alone: gastronomy, architecture, photography, the sea, or simply a succession of very good days in a city that rewards undivided attention. We are reachable throughout your stay and we do not intrude. The goal is for you to feel completely free within a program that has been invisibly structured to give you exactly that freedom.

Three Days, Your Way

Day One

Your guide collects you after breakfast and the city is yours. The walled city first — the cathedral, the carriages, the Corales district. Then Getsemaní on foot: the murals, the market, the bar with the best negroni in the neighborhood. Your guide reads your pace and adjusts accordingly. At seven, a private table at one of three restaurants that are worth the effort of getting in.

Day Two

The boat leaves early and the islands are quiet when you arrive. A private vessel to the Rosario archipelago — snorkeling, lunch on deck, a long afternoon with no agenda and no other guests. You are back before dark. The evening is yours entirely: your concierge can arrange anything or nothing at all.

Day Three

Your final morning is a food walk through the market district with a culinary guide who knows every vendor personally. Lunch is somewhere you would never have found alone. The afternoon is unscheduled — a hammock, a book, a boutique hotel spa session. Your transfer to the airport is arranged, confirmed, and on time. You leave having seen a version of Cartagena that takes most travelers three visits to find.
